Community Futures provides loans from $500-$125,000 to new, existing or expanding businesses which meet the following criteria:
- The proposed venture must provide a benefit to our region either through demonstrated job creation or diversification of the local economy.
- The business must be commercially viable.
- The owner has a reasonable personal investment in the business.
- The business has reasonable security to be pledged against the loan.
- The applicant is unable to receive funding from traditional sources. e.g banks, credit unions
All loan applications are given fair consideration, however preference is given to ventures that address all of the above criteria as well as fall into one of the following sectors:
- Value-added
- Tourism
- Agriculture
- Technology
- Manufacturing
